Love of writing came early to Greg. Although he set out in his college coursework to prepare for a career as a high school biology teacher, he soon traded his dissecting scalpel for a pen and specialized in creative writing while finishing his Bachelor's Degree in English, with a minor in music. Later, after earning his Master's Degree in education and counseling, he first worked as a high school and college teacher, and then had a job as a counselor with the labor department.
In the midst of this, his love of the outdoors kept pulling at him as well, and he soon found himself applying for jobs as a park ranger. Working briefly for the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service in Washington and Oregon, he finally landed a job as a generalist law enforcement ranger with the California Department of Parks and Recreation.
Greg’s career has taken him from one end of the state to the other in all kinds of natural environments. Still, his interest in writing continued and he authored travel articles and essays for magazines and dreamed of completing longer works. At the same time he worked editing other author’s works and now runs a part-time editing business. His service ethic and sense of adventure eventually led him to working as a firefighter/medic and he now serves as a volunteer fire Captain with a local agency in Colorado. In addition he has spent several years working part-time on a coal fired steam railroad as a brakeman on the trains and a historian in the museum. When time permits he still makes music in local venues as a solo artist and in bands and has several music CDs he has recorded. He now spends his time collaborating with daughter Wendy on novels, as well as continuing his own writing projects and looks forward to releasing two more novels in the Becker mystery series soon.
